Handwritten letter of Nephi on stationery of the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (German Imperial Railway Co.) to the Scheffler family in Elbing from Malmö, Sweden. His mission is over now, and he expresses his thanks for the wonderful reception he received in Elbing. There is more talk about packages and gifts. Nephi has travel fever, and Paris and London are just ahead.

    Malmö, Sweden, 3 July 1936

    All my Dear Ones!

Finally I've landed in Sweden after a trip that has been interrupted very often. I had to wait in Stettin [now Szeszin in Poland] for railway connections to Stralsund, and then I had to spend the night in Stralsund. Only yesterday around noon did I finally succeed in getting a connection to Sassnitz, and only last night at 9 p.m. did I arrive here. But it doesn't matter; the main thing is that I got here in good shape.

We had rotten weather in Stettin and Stralsund. I wonder if it was like that in Elbing?

Today I've already been in the shipping offices and there I found some letters for me. One letter was from my father. He says that all the people back home are asking when I will come home. It's easy to see someone is thinking about me!

Once again I have to express my feelings that I am very thankful for everything you have done for me. I had a wonderful time in Elbing, and it was painful for me to have to leave. You were so good to me that I thought I didn't deserve to accept so many gifts. I will never forget you. I will have to think of you often. Lovely Elbing and its magnificent surrounding areas will not leave my memory so quickly.

A missionary friend of mine was here in Malmö yesterday, and I will try to see if I can meet up with him in Copenhagen this afternoon. Maybe I can travel to Paris and London with him. It's always better to have a friend to travel with.

So, the package can be shipped now. Everything is fine. I was only afraid that the ship would be full.

If some letters arrive for me, could you send them home? I'm not expecting any more anyway.

It won't be much longer now. Soon I'll be underway for home and the USA. I'm back in the swing of things, and travel fever has me in its grasp again. No rest now till I've been in Paris and London.

So, for now I have to stop. I still have a lot to do, and I've traveling to Copenhagen this afternoon.

So, once again thanking you a lot,
    I remain-
    Your Nephi.
